There’s an old saying ‘necessity is the mother of invention.’ For Angola, Indiana resident, Sheryl Clifton, who began making goat milk soap almost 20 years ago, it was exactly what was needed to help treat her baby’s eczema. “If you’ve never tried it before, you’re in for a treat. It feels just like you are washing with lotion. Goat milk gently cleans, rejuvenates and softens your skin,” she said. Various scents of Bryrpatch lotions and soap include raspberry, pumpkin spice and lavender mint. In addition to goat milk soap and lotion, Clifton sells essential oil soaps, both scented and unscented. Top products at the farmers market and online are her insect repellent lotion “Bug Off” as well as Itchy Sticks, which help with poison ivy and bug bites. The Angola Farmers Market is not just the place to get fruits and vegetables or your morning coffee. It is where we go to say "hello" to one another...to tell our friends how beautiful their babies are...to see the new dog and comfort a friend who has lost a dog. It is where we go, in my small town, to take care of one another. Every Saturday.
